Two tier affiliate marketing programs - do they work

Our online job is affiliate marketing, and as we have been doing it for many years, we get a lot of questions regarding how to be successful.  One question that keeps coming up is two tier affiliate programs and how well do they work.  Because of these questions we though we would write a quick hubpage on the topic.

On the surface two tier affiliate programs seem like an amazing opportunity.  All you have to do is sign up an affiliate marketer underneath you, and you will get a percentage of all of their sales.  Easy!

The problem is that affiliate marketers just like yourself are trying to do the same thing and sign up as many affiliate marketers as they can underneath them.  The end result is a lot of people in the program but not many of them are focusing on actually selling the products.  This is obviously not a good thing as you won't be making any money.

However, we don't disregard two tier affiliate programs completely.  If the program is selling great products, that are needed by people, in a niche that is under serviced, then they can represent a very good opportunity.  And this is really the key.  You need to be supplying people with a product that they need...if you don't do that, you won't be successful...period!

So there you have it...that is our view on two tier programs.  When considering a program, consider the product first, and then the type of program that it is.  If you want to learn more affiliate marketing tips then check out our Affiliate Marketing Tips blog.

Cheers
